WHAT IS REALM?

We’re not just another grocery store. We’re truly striving every single day to build something different. We all know that the grocery industry has been taken over by corporations that care more about profit than people or the planet. And that is exactly why we’re here to push back and show what community-centered shopping can actually look like.

We believe that every single purchase has power. When you shop here, you’re choosing to support local makers, small farms, and ethical producers instead of faceless supply chains. You’re choosing less waste, less harm, and more intention. You’re saying no to the disposable systems that have made grocery shopping feel empty and disconnected.

Realm is built on care and accountability. We’re small, we’re independent, and we love it that way. Every product we bring in has a story. Every refill keeps something out of the landfill. Every dollar you spend here stays close to home.

HAVE QUESTIONS?

We know shopping differently can bring up a few questions, so we’ve gathered some answers to help you get to know how we do things here.

  • We’re open daily from 8am - 7pm.

  • 2310 NE Broadway | Portland, OR 97232

  • 1. Grab a Container

    • Bring your own jars, bottles, or bags.

    • Don’t have one? No problem AT ALL! We have FREE containers you can use or we have new containers for purchase if you’re looking for a certain style or size.

    2. Tag It with Filljoy

    • Use a Filljoy tag to label your container with the product and weight before you begin to shop.

    • If you’re unsure how, our team will show you, it’s super easy and everyone is excited to help you!

    3. Pick Your Items

    • Scoop, pour, or pump your favorites: grains, spices, teas, body care, and more.

    4. Checkout

    • Bring your filled and tagged containers to the register.

    • We’ll scan your Filljoy tags and weigh your items to deducted the weight of your container so you only pay for what’s inside.

    5. Take It Home & Celebrate

    • You just refilled and reduced waste, yay!

  • You can bring in your own containers to fill! They do need to be CLEAN and DRY!

Employees will be checking to ensure containers are able to be filled with this policy.

  • Container donations are currently OPEN!

We allow customers to bring in containers to donate to the store for reuse as a free option for the community.

We only accept them on MONDAYS & TUESDAYS.

They must be dropped off at the counter with a staff member.

They must be CLEAN, DRY & FREE OF ANY DEBRIS or they will not be accepted.

We only accept those with a tight-fitting, matching lid. We do not accept plastic yogurt containers, plastic peanut butter containers, or other containers that may pose allergen hazards to our community.

Your understanding and attention to this matter are greatly appreciated!

  • We do!

  • A circular economy is about doing things differently. It’s about using, reusing, repairing, sharing, and eventually recycling so that every product stays in play as long as possible instead of getting tossed after a single use. This is the exact opposite of the broken, take-make-waste system we live in now. Recycling alone won’t fix the mountains of packaging, food, and products being thrown away every day. We believe real change comes from giving our community the tools and options to shop with intention, to think about sourcing, packaging, and the global impact of every choice. That’s how we start moving toward a truly circular future, one refill and one conscious decision at a time.
